Muscle Aches and Pains

The muscular system holds the negative emotion of "intolerance". When we are intolerant, we become easily irritated, judgmental and critical. So muscular pain can be a sign of holding on to "intolerance". The flower essence that can help us heal our intolerance and transform it back to tolerance is called Beech. Many times, our intolerance may begin at the back of the neck and around the shoulder area. We have a habit of calling this stress, but if we learn the right language, we can begin to heal it with the right remedies.

Muscle cramping and pains for no known reason are often a sign of a calcium and/or magnesium deficiency in the body. The deficiency is usually caused by our body's inability to digest and absorb these nutrients. Therefore, it is important to work on healing the digestive organs in order to heal deficiencies in the system. We do this by avoiding the foods that aggravate digestion which include: fried food, hydrogenated oils, pork, cow dairy products, city water, artificial ingredients including colors, preservatives and sweeteners, dark colored sodas, oranges and orange juice as well as caffeine and chocolate.

After eliminating these foods, it is time to cleanse the system. As I have spoken previously, my favorite cleanser is dandelion root. However, I often use burdock root or yellow dock root when the system has been abused for longer periods of time. Burdock root tends to be more helpful for those who manifest cysts, boils, styes, mucus - any thing that gets stuck in the system. Those with severe bowel disorders may also do well with Burdock as it does allow us to eliminate more freely. Yellow Dock Root is connected to the lymphatic system and can be helpful for those with chronic mucus problems or alcohol or drug addictions.

Once digestion is working it is important to increase the foods that are high in calcium and magnesium. The foods I find easiest to put into our busy lifestyles are sesame seeds, poppy seeds, almonds, dark bitter greens and fresh green herbs. It is easy to sprinkle a little sesame seed on your morning meal, or pop a few almonds in your mouth. It is also easy to buy some fresh basil and parsley each week and simply cut it up into what ever you may eat during the day. Supplements are helpful, but the body will rely on real food in order to heal itself.

Once you have made a commitment to eat more of the healthy foods for calcium and magnesium absorption, you may need to add a supplement in order to increase your levels quickly. A find that those who are creating muscular pains tend to need more magnesium than calcium. So either you can add a magnesium supplement or a magnesium/calcium supplement where the ratio to Magnesium is higher than the ratio to Calcium. The tissue salt Magnesium Phosphate is also very helpful for muscular aches and pains.

If the muscular aches and pains are caused by an injury, all of the above is still essential to heal quickly and effectively. I would also add a homeopathic remedy from Natra Bio called "Injuries". It contains all the homeopathic remedies that help us to heal, not only the muscles, ligaments and tendons on the body, but the skeletal and nervous systems that may have been affected as well. You can take it internally, and because it is in liquid form, you can also put a drop or two directly on the affected area for quicker healing.

Having the knowledge to heal yourself is the first step in the healing process. The more you know, the faster you can heal!
